Are you supportive of the UPA's new mission and enthusiastic about the the new strategic plan which is based on the input of thousands of UPA members/Ultimate players nationwide?
Are you willing to commit significant time to not only ask tough questions but also work with others in order to develop and adopt policies necessary to further the UPA and the sport of Ultimate?
If your answers to both of the above are yes, then you're a perfect candidate for the UPA Board of Directors. By following a few simple steps, you can become a candidate for a three year term (2009-2011).
1. Review the UPA Guide for Prospective Board Members.
2. Contact the UPA Nominating Committee with any questions you may have about the requirements of being a Board member. Email Nom Comm at: upa<underscore>nom<underscore>comm<at>upa<dot>org.
3. Contact a current Board member to learn more about what it REALLY means to serve.
4. Decide whether you would like to run from your region or At Large. Keep in mind that only residents of that Club Series Region (Club Regional/Sectional Map) may run for a Regional Board seat (and only the South and Central Region will be voted on this fall). There are no residence requirements for At Large seats.
5. Prepare and submit a 500 word (or less) candidate statement outlining what you believe the role of a Board member to be and why you would make a great one! (See Section 6.3 in the Prospective Board Member Guide for ideas on what to include). Submit your statement and photo to the Nominating Committee no later than August 27, 2008. Nom Comm email: upa<underscore>nom<underscore>comm<at>upa<dot>org.
6. Vote starting October 1 (and before November 1) and encourage others to do so also.
