Team History
Well before his now famous ( and unavoidably contagious ) quotation ; “Anybody want a peanut?”, Andre the Giant was just a simple boy frolicking in the mountains of Southern France. (Né Andre Rene Rouussimoff in Grenoble May 19,1946 ) His parents Boris and Marion and his four silblings were of average size. Andre ,  a member of the original BruteSquad, suffered from a acromegaly, a disease that leads to hyperproduction of growth hormones. This “Monster Eiffel Tower” as he first called himself was first seen by the Canadian wrestler Edouard Carpentier who led him down the yellow brick road to fortune and fame.

Andre’s heart may have been as big as a Volkswagon but it dwarfs in comparison to the heart with which the 2004 BruteSquad (from Cambridge Mass) plays the sport of ultimate.

Brute, spreading the love for the third year in a row, has a few shining additions to the roster including a two effin amazing coaches and one inflatable monkey. Though some of the names have changed, the goal is always the same. To leave ourselves behind and become part of something greater. To play with love and to love eachother.

Andre the Giant, known to us as “Fezzik” the loveable Giant in Rob Reiners cult classic the Princess Bride- is just part of what inspires us. A rigorous training season of sack races and Saltine Olympics have prepared us for our little trip down the Yellow Brick Road. We are really effin pumped to be here.

Rise Up Brute. 17 on 7.

Go Brute or Go Home.
