Team History
Brass Monkey evolved from initial banter about a new Bay Area team into a late spring tryout attended by 60+ ultimate players. Six months later we have clawed our way out of the NW Region and are looking forward to our first National tournament. True to our name, everyone on the team is a few generations closer to the ape family than the average population. Look for those longs arms to get more handblocks and layouts Ds than any other team at Nationals.
Dave Owen, Maria Stokes, and Matt Ruby provide the cumulative brain power of a human child, but seeing how it’s the best that we can manage, we use their diagrams for all of our defense and offensive sets. Nate and Jenny Miller are our silverbacks, and as such they bring calm and order derived from their previous experiences with BRU. Jeff Marvan and Mike Margulies provide the emotional bonding for our excitable troop. Wendy Chan and Will Lavery got us to Nationals by utilizing their opposable thumbs to the Mth degree.
