Team History
The story is this: every spring Schwa is reincarnated as…Schwa. This year’s team has some older roots and a bunch of new buds, a combination bound to yield—dare we say it—a rather spectacular October bloom at Nationals.
But enough about the flowers.
Schwa’s greatest challenge this year has been consistency—sometimes even Schwabies themselves wondered what just hit them (or didn’t)—but that always made for more interesting Sundays. And as Colorado and Blaine can attest, Schwa has almost always burst out on Sundays.
So don’t turn your back on this backdoor creeper of team. Keep an eye on G-string streaking by, or J-mono spreading whatever it is she’s got. Never eat a bowl of Chowda or Yorkshire pudding, especially when served by Sir Edmund. If you don’t know who George is, you’re a gonner, and if you chomp on a T-bone offered by J-dog who’s in cahoots with Hamm, you’ve been beat.
When Fancy Nancy saunters by, expect an ultimate prediction from Amy the economist, like how you’re about to trip on Bre-luv’s limbs and wither. Not done yet? The Kidd smiles nice, but she’s a feisty one on the field. And Dietzman votes with all her might, especially when VK feeds her a line of inspiration or El makes a cut while canning or Freshman finally graduates.
What’s that sound? It’s the siren Birdsong, and the temptress Bobanna, and they’ve planted one hell of team. It’s time for the harvest.
