General Role
Regional Observer Coordinators (ROC) are responsible for assisting with Observer recruitment, Observer training, and Observer-related logistics at UPA events and training clinics within their regions.
Specific Role
The ROC assists the UPA Observers Committee (OC) with identifying opportunities for Observer Training Clinics to be held in their region. Once a clinic is scheduled, the ROC will work with the OC and local organizers to coordinate logistics for the clinic. In many instances the ROC will attend the clinic and assist with clinic logistics and training. The ROC will take the lead on recruiting individuals to attend training clinics and will coordinate registration for the clinics with the clinic trainer and UPA staff.
The ROC assists Championship Series sectional (SC) and regional (RC) coordinators with Observer staffing and training for Series events in their region. The ROC will serve as a resource in this capacity for all divisions within the Series, including Youth, College, and Club. When Observers are requested or required for a Series event in their region, the ROC will work with that event’s UPA coordinator to recruit, help train, and schedule Observers for that event, utilizing UPA Observer Program resources, procedures, and standards.
The ROC will provide general assistance to the OC with Observer Program activities that take place in their region. The ROC will provide feedback to the OC, based on experiences with clinics and events, that may be used to improve the UPA Observer Program.

Appointment
The ROC is appointed by the Chair of the Observers Committee. Term is for a period of two (2) years, subject to review and evaluation, and may be terminated or renewed by the Observer Committee Chair, with the approval of the Championship Series Director.
